DISCLAIMER-

I am not Dutch. Neocalvinism has a long history beginning in Holland. It's original and primary proponents were Dutch. It has a very pronounced ethnic heritage. I am a total outsider to all of that. There have been, and are, denominations, churches, schools and organizations affiliated with the Dutch Reformed Faith and Neocalvinism. I am not, and never have been, involved with any of them (although we have occasionally contributed money to the Institute of Christian Studies in Toronto, Canada).

My entrance into Neocalvinism (also known as Kuyperism) has come through my personal study of the Reformed Faith, especially the Doctrines of God, the Sovereignty of God, the Kingdom of God, the Book of Revelation, the Book of Genesis and the subjects of "Powers", World Views and Cornelius Van Til's Presuppositionalism and papers coming out of the ICS back in the 70's. In other words, many streams have led into this river. Most of all, I have been driven for years to find a way to see all of life redeemed and lived under the Authority of Christ. That turns out to also be the driving vision of Neocalvinism. I discovered some of the writers I read, such as Evan Runner, Al Wolters and Hans Rookmaaker, do or did, have connections with the Dutch Heritage and Reformational Movement. Probably, the earliest influence along these lines was none other than Francis Schaeffer (who was not Dutch).

I have adopted and strongly endorse the essential principles of Neocalvinism. I do not endorse or represent the Dutch Reformed Movement or any other Neocalvinists, in any way. I do not know personally anyone in it. (Actually, there are several subdivisions which disagree with each other). I do not accept responsibility for their errors (and historically, they have made many). Certainly, I do not agree with all I read- by anyone (that includes the historic Confessions and Calvin's Institutes) Everything must be continually examined under the light of the Word.

I have sought to do that, consulting many others who have studied these matters. The Articles on this web sight are my original work, results of my personal study.
